With the exchange rate hovering at almost 4 Polish Złoty per Euro, Poland is a very affordable place to visit. Although some products are more expensive, such as clothing and accommodation, generally food is surprisingly cheap.

However, if you are curious of the price of food at other restaurants, consider these average prices:

For travelers looking for a place to stock up on essential groceries, the most common supermarket found in Krakow is Kefirek. Although there are several locations scattered through the city, Kefirek has a prominent central location on ul. Grodzka.
Here are some prices that can be expected in the average supermarket:
Loaf of bread: 2-4pln
Liter of Milk: 3 PLN
Coffee: 5-10PLN
Tea: 2-10 PLN
Cheese (1Kg): 20PLN
Cold cut meat (1 KG): 20PLN
Vegetables: 3-10PLN
Fruit (from fruit stand): 3-10PLN
**Keep in mind when purchasing fruits and vegetables that you are usually expected to weigh the produce yourself, and label it accordingly with the weight and price. At the market, you are also expected to haggle to find the best price.

Beer (pint from a pub): 5-7PLN for local beer, more for imports
